Catch the Mole

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

Catch the Mole (the “App”) is a mobile game developed and published by Michele Pizzeghello (the “Developer”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use the App, why it is processed, which third-party services are involved, and the choices and rights available to you.

1. Developer and Privacy Contact

Developer: Michele Pizzeghello
Country: Italy
Email: michele.pizzeghello@gmail.com
Website: https://michelepizzeghello.com

For privacy questions or requests concerning the App, contact us using the email address above.

2. Overview

The App does not require a Developer-operated account and the Developer does not operate a separate server database containing player profiles.

The App does not currently display any advertising.

The App does use Google Play Games Services for authentication and the online leaderboard.

Gameplay progress and settings are also stored locally on your device.

3. Information Processed

3.1 Information stored locally on your device

The App stores information such as:

  • game progress and best score;
  • audio, music, and other game preferences;
  • pending and previously submitted leaderboard scores.

This information is stored locally on your device. The Developer does not receive it, except when a score is submitted to Google Play Games at your request or as part of the leaderboard feature.

You can delete locally stored information by clearing the App’s storage in Android settings or by uninstalling the App.

3.2 Google Play Games Services

The App uses Google Play Games Services, provided by Google and operated on Google’s cloud infrastructure, for player authentication and the online leaderboard.

When you use these features, Google may process information such as:

  • your Google Play Games player identifier and authentication status;
  • information made available through your Play Games profile;
  • scores submitted to the leaderboard;
  • device, service usage, diagnostic, security, and fraud-prevention information.

Leaderboard scores and profile information may be visible to other users according to the leaderboard configuration and your Google Play Games privacy settings. The Developer does not receive your Google account password.

3.3 Information you provide when contacting us

If you contact the Developer, we may process your email address, the content of your message, and any other information you voluntarily provide. We use this information only to respond, provide support, handle privacy requests, protect our rights, or comply with legal obligations.

4. Advertising

The App does not currently display advertising and does not currently integrate any advertising or ad-mediation SDK.

If advertising is introduced in a future version of the App, this Privacy Policy will be updated beforehand to describe the advertising providers involved, the information they process, and your available choices, and updated notice will be provided inside the App where required.

5. Purposes and Legal Bases

Depending on your location and applicable law, information may be processed on the following grounds:

  • Performance of a service requested by you: for Google Play Games authentication, score submission, and leaderboard access;
  • Legitimate interests: for service security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and improving the stability of the App, where those interests are not overridden by your rights;
  • Legal obligations: where processing is required to comply with applicable law or valid legal requests.

6. Third-Party Services

The following third party processes information under its own terms and privacy policy:

The Developer does not control the independent processing, retention periods, or privacy-request procedures of this provider. Please review its policy for complete information.

7. Data Sharing

Information may be shared:

  • with Google, to provide authentication, the leaderboard, security, and fraud prevention through Google Play Games Services;
  • when required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid request from a competent authority;
  • when necessary to protect users, the Developer, the App, or third parties from fraud, abuse, security threats, or unlawful activity;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale, or transfer of the App or related business assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required.

The Developer does not sell personal information.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Local gameplay data remains on your device until you clear the App’s storage, reset the relevant data, or uninstall the App.
  • Google Play Games data, including leaderboard scores, is retained and managed by Google according to your Google account settings and Google’s policies.
  • Support and privacy correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, document the request, resolve disputes, protect legal rights, and comply with applicable obligations.

Because the Developer does not operate a separate player-account database, we may not possess data that identifies you beyond information you voluntarily provide when contacting us. For data controlled by Google, you may need to use Google’s own privacy-request tools.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed primarily to children under the age of 13 or the minimum age defined as a child under applicable law. The Developer does not knowingly request personal information directly from children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided personal information directly to the Developer, contact us so that we can review the request and take appropriate action. Google handles information according to its own children’s privacy obligations and the age or consent signals supplied to it.

10. International Data Transfers

Google may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, Google is responsible for using appropriate safeguards for international transfers, as described in its privacy policy.

11. Security

We take reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the App and the information we control. Information transmitted to Google Play Games Services is handled through Google’s SDK and infrastructure. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights including:

  • access to personal information;
  • correction of inaccurate information;
  • deletion of information;
  • restriction of or objection to processing;
  • withdrawal of consent;
  • data portability;
  • lodging a complaint with a competent data protection authority.

Residents of the European Economic Area may contact their local supervisory authority. In Italy, the supervisory authority is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

To exercise rights concerning information controlled directly by the Developer, email michele.pizzeghello@gmail.com. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify and process your request. For information controlled by Google, use the privacy tools and contact methods described in its privacy policy.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, its services, legal requirements, or data practices change — including if advertising is introduced in a future version. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Where required, additional notice will be provided inside the App.
